Yellow Orange Tip Butterfly

Ixias pyrene are common in dry deciduous forests, scrub and fallow lands, and are found throughout the year.
   They are, however, much more common during the monsoon and post monsoon and much more rare in the summer.
   The dorsal side forewing of both male and female has orange markings that never extend beyond twenty five percent of the cell and are inwardly bordered with black. (The orange markings never become dark or red.)

   The ventral side wing surface is yellow colored and is mottled with brown, while the dorsal side wing surface is yellow white colored.

 The dorsal side hindwings have black colored margins which are inwardly obscure.
